The FDA pre-approval inspections, routine inspections, and “for cause” inspections of food processing facilities, dairy farms, and animal feed processors are designed to ensure the pet food they produce is safe to eat, contain no harmful substances, are produced under sanitary conditions, and are truthfully labeled.
